Ferry from Split to Bol

When planning your trip with the Split to Bol ferry, you can take advantage of the regular discounts available to specific traveler categories. Typicallt, children under 13 are entitled to lower ferry ticket rates, while infants and toddlers up to 2 years old can travel for free.

Can I book a cabin?

No, there are no cabins on the Split to Bol ferry, due to the short duration of the trip.

Can I book business-class seats?

Jadrolinija and Krilo Shipping Company do not offer any premium or business-class seating options on Split to Bol ferry. Standard deck/lounge seating is included in the ticket price.

Luggage

The Croatian ferry companies are generally flexible with baggage, with Jadrolinija and Krilo Shipping Company allowing you up to 20 kg of luggage.

Tip: when traveling with Jadrolinija, you can usually bring an additional bag up to 10 kg for around €5.

Traveling with pets

You can bring your pet on the Split to Bol ferry, provided you include it in your booking. Make sure you bring along your pet’s health and travel documents, as well any pet supplies you may need for the trip.

Where do pets stay?

The accommodation options depend on the ferry company and vessel, but typically, your pet can stay with you or in the onboard kennels. Prices for kennels are around €12.

During the trip, smaller pets must be kept in a suitable carrier (total weight of which must not exceed 8 kg), while larger pets must wear a muzzle and be kept on a leash.

Here are some useful tips for your ferry trip from Split to Bol:

• As the port of Split gets very busy in the high season, it is advisable to arrive at the port of Split at least 1 hr ahead of departure to avoid overcrowding.

Where to take the ferry from Split to Bol

Ferries to Bol depart from the port of Split (Trajektna Luka Split). This the main city port  and is by the waterfront, within walking distance of the Old Town and around 20 km from Split Airport. 

At the port and in the surrounding area, you’ll find plenty of traveler amenities, such as ticket offices, ATMs, cafés, fast-food spots, shops, souvenir stands and car rental agencies. The main bus and train station are right next to the port, while parking lots are available nearby, but spaces can be limited during peak season.

How to get to the port of Split

• On foot: from near the city center or Old Town, you can reach the port in 5 to 10 min on foot.
• By car: follow the signs for the city center and then the ferry port.
• By bus: regional city lines such as lines 9, 10, and 15 run frequent daily schedules dropping passengers directly at the main train/bus station complex adjacent to the ship gates.
• From Split Airport (SPU): the shuttle bus from the terminal reaches the central bus station right at the port in 30-40 min, while municipal bus line 2 runs directly from the airport to the Pazar stop next to the Old Town in about 45-55 min.
• By taxi: a taxi ride from the airport directly to the port typically takes about 30 min.

Where does the ferry arrive in Bol?

Ferries from Split arrive at the port of Bol, on the southern coast of Brač. The port is close to the town center, making it easy to continue on foot to cafés, restaurants, accommodation and local transport options.

Zlatni Rat beach, one of the most popular beaches in Croatia, is located outside the immediate port area and can be reached on foot, by tourist train, taxi boat or local transport, depending on the season.
