Where to take the ferry from Venice to the Croatian ports?

The terminal is easily accessible by public transport from Venice Santa Lucia railway station, Tronchetto Island and Piazzale Roma.

  • By car: from the A4 motorway (Milan - Trieste) or the A13 motorway (from Bologna), follow the signs for Venice, cross the Ponte della Libertà bridge and head to the parking areas at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto. From there, the People Mover takes you directly to the Marittima ferry terminal in just a few minutes.
  • By bus: ACTV, ATVO and FlixBus services stop at Piazzale Roma, just a short walk from the Marittima ferry terminal, which can also be reached via the People Mover.
  • By train: from Venice Santa Lucia railway station, located in the historic center, you can reach the Marittima ferry terminal by People Mover (via Piazzale Roma) or on foot in about 20 min. If you arrive at Venice Mestre railway station on the mainland, you can take a bus to Piazzale Roma.
  • By plane: Venice Marco Polo Airport, located about 13 km away, is connected to Piazzale Roma by ACTV and ATVO shuttle buses (including express services), as well as by Alilaguna water buses. Alternatively, Treviso Airport serves many low-cost flights and offers direct bus connections to Venice.

  • Pula: ferries from Venice arrive at the Pula ferry terminal, one of the main ports in Istria. Restaurants, cafés, shops and other useful services are available nearby. The port is about 2 km from the city center and is easily accessible by public transport. The main bus station is just 600 m from the ferry terminal, while Pula Airport is approximately 9 km away.
  • Rovinj: high-speed ferries from Venice arrive at the Rovinj passenger port, located on the waterfront right next to the Old Town. As Rovinj is a compact town, you can easily reach the center on foot from the port.
  • Poreč: high-speed ferries arrive at the Poreč passenger port, located in the heart of the town. Thanks to the town's compact size, the Old Town, bus station, parking areas and main attractions are all within easy walking distance.
  • Umag: catamarans from Venice arrive at the Port of Umag, located on the northwestern tip of the Istrian Peninsula, just a short walk from the town center.
