Where to take the ferry from Positano to Naples
Ferries to Naples depart from the only pier in the small port of Positano. The harbour is very close to the town center and the Marina Grande beach.
There are bars, restaurants and boat rentals in the area of the port. You'll also find many shops and hotels along the streets that run through the center and towards the upper part of the town.
How to get to the port of Positano
- By car: you can reach Positano by taking the A3 motorway to the Castellammare di Stabia exit and then following the scenic SS145 and SS163 Amalfi Coast roads. Paid parking is available in the town center, but spaces are limited, especially during the summer. From the parking areas, you can walk to the port.
- By bus: SITA Sud buses connect Positano with Sorrento, Amalfi, Salerno and other towns along the Amalfi Coast. The main bus stop is on the SS163 road, just a few minutes' walk from Spiaggia Grande and the ferry departure point.
- By train: Positano does not have a railway station. The nearest stations are Sorrento (connected to Naples by the Circumvesuviana railway) and Salerno, from where you can continue to Positano by SITA Sud bus or seasonal ferry.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Naples Capodichino Airport, about 60 km away. From the airport, you can reach Positano by bus, private transfer or taxi.
